Through planting, weed management & predator control, we are working to bringing this rich tapestry of biodiversity back.

We are working on a collaboration with Tauranga Girls College, who are joint owners of the land.

We are also seeking support from external agencies (such as from our Councils) and the wider community...

Why?

From the hilltops, through the swamp to the sea, this area would have been home to a rich tapestry of biodiversity. A place brimming with life!

The past few hundred years has seen humans introduce all manner of plants and animals that has decimated the unique plants and animals that once called this area home. Habitat loss through deforestation has also played it's toll!

So much has been lost, and we feel it is our responsibility to protect what remains.

We may not be able to bring Aotearoa back to a pre-human state, however restoration projects across the country are showing just how much can be achieved.
