Returning the pieces of the puzzle...

Well, safe to say it felt great to be back together with the whānau this week... and planting was our kaupapa! ❤

Before getting out there, we discussed the importance of diversity in our forest ecosystems, and how different species flower & fruit in different seasons... each having their 'time in the sun' 🌳☀

The students really grasped how this diversity plays a key role in sustaining our wildlife through the seasons and were inspired to get their hands dirty (despite the weather!).

Thanks to Trees for Survival and Mrs Robertson's ongoing commitment to this kaupapa, our school had an abundance of kawakawa saplings just rearing to go. Nā reira ngā mihi nui ki a koe Mrs Robertson for all the time and energy you put in 🙏

The beautiful plants have found their new home in our gully and will play their own role in slowly (but surely) piecing this puzzle back together... one plant at a time.

Tamariki mā, you did a fantastic job. Your the kaitiaki of our future, and your doing the mahi now. Kei te tino poho kererū mātou katoa 👌

We're very proud.

Kia ora tātou and until next time,

Matua Jake
